NEET Syllabus and How We Cover It at Zetta

NEET UG has three subjects: Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The paper is based on the NCERT books of Class XI and Class XII. At our NEET coaching in Chandigarh, we teach each chapter in a fixed order: first the concept, then NCERT line by line, then questions of different levels.

90

Biology is half of your paper

Botany and Zoology together carry 90 of the 180 questions. That means 360 marks out of 720 come from Biology alone. Many questions come straight from NCERT diagrams, tables and even small lines in the text.

We make students read NCERT at least three times and test it with chapter quizzes. Topics like Human Physiology, Genetics, Plant Physiology and Ecology get extra revision sessions.

Physics

Physics scares many students, but it gets easier with a clear base and regular numericals.

  • Mechanics and Laws of Motion
  • Electrostatics and Current Electricity
  • Optics and Modern Physics
  • Thermodynamics and Waves

Chemistry

Chemistry rewards students who revise often. It can be very scoring when all three parts are balanced.

  • Physical: mole concept, equilibrium, kinetics
  • Organic: reaction flow and named reactions
  • Inorganic: periodic table and NCERT facts

Your NEET Preparation Roadmap, Step by Step

Many students lose marks not because they are weak, but because they have no plan. This is the path we follow with our batches in Chandigarh.

  1. Build the base in Class IX and X

Early students work on Science and Maths basics. When the Class XI syllabus starts, the jump does not feel big.

  2. Finish Class XI with full clarity

This is the heaviest part of the syllabus. We go slowly here, because weak Class XI concepts show up again in Class XII chapters.

  3. Complete Class XII and start mixed practice

Once new chapters end, students begin chapter tests, unit tests and mixed question sets from both years.

  4. Revise and attempt full-length mocks

The last few months are for revision cycles, mock papers and error analysis. Every wrong answer is written in a notebook and studied again.

  5. Stay calm in the final weeks

No new topics, only short notes, NCERT revision and good sleep. A calm mind scores better than a tired one.

Why Students Choose Chandigarh for NEET Preparation

Chandigarh is a peaceful, well planned city, and that matters when you study 8 to 10 hours every day. Sector 34, where many coaching institutes are located, is easy to reach by bus, auto and car. Students from Mohali, Panchkula, Zirakpur and nearby towns in Punjab and Haryana travel here daily.

The city also has safe paying guest options, hostels and good food close to coaching areas. Parents feel relaxed, and students can give their full time to books.

Another big benefit is the study culture. When you sit in a class with students who also dream of becoming doctors, your own habits improve. You see others revise, ask doubts and take tests seriously, and slowly you do the same.

Still, the city alone does not crack NEET. What you need is the right teachers, a smart plan and steady effort. That is exactly what Zetta Institute focuses on.

How to Pick the Best NEET Coaching in Chandigarh

There are many institutes, and every one of them says it is the best. Do not decide by ads or big banners. Visit, attend a demo class and ask direct questions. Here is a simple checklist that parents and students can use:

Book a demo class
  • Teachers who explain, not just speak. Ask if faculty is available to clear doubts after class.
  • A small batch size. In a smaller group, every student gets a chance to ask and be heard.
  • Regular tests with feedback. A test is useful only when someone shows you where you went wrong.
  • NCERT at the center. Be careful of any institute that ignores NCERT, since most NEET questions come from it.
  • Honest claims. Good institutes talk about their method and do not make big promises.
  • Parent updates. You should know how your child is doing every month.

Which NEET Batch Is Right for You?

Every student starts from a different point, so there is no single best batch. Here is how to think about it, and you can click any program name to read its full details.

Simple Study Habits That Help in NEET

Treat NCERT like your main book

Read it slowly, underline facts and revise the diagrams. For Biology and Inorganic Chemistry, this one habit can add many marks.

Solve questions every day

Reading a chapter is not the same as knowing it. After each topic, solve 30 to 40 questions to see where you are stuck.

Keep a mistake notebook

Write every wrong answer with the reason. Check it before every test and you will stop repeating the same errors.

Do not skip Physics numericals

Learn formulas, but also learn when to use them. Ten well understood questions teach more than fifty copied ones.

Sleep and eat well

Seven hours of sleep helps memory. Short walks and proper meals keep your energy steady on long study days.

Ask for help early

A doubt that stays for a week becomes a gap. At Zetta, doubt sessions are part of the routine, so no one needs to feel shy.

After NEET: Counselling and Admission Process

Many students and parents feel unsure about what comes after the exam. This is how the process works, so you know what to expect and can plan early.

What happens after the result

Once the result is out, students go through counselling to get a college seat. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) handles counselling for the All India Quota and some other seats. Each state also runs its own counselling for state quota seats. Your rank, category and home state decide which seats you can try for.

Government college cut-off marks change every year based on the paper difficulty and the number of students, so nobody can promise an exact score for a seat. Always check the previous year's cut-off lists from official sources, and keep a main plan and a backup plan.

How parents can help

Your support matters more than you think. Ask about the plan, not only the marks. Make sure your child sleeps well and eats on time. Avoid comparing with cousins or neighbours, because it adds stress. If your child feels low after one bad test, talk calmly and let our mentors help as well.

Tip for families: keep all documents ready early, like Class X and XII marksheets, category certificate and domicile proof. It saves a lot of last minute running around at counselling time.

NEET Coaching in Chandigarh: FAQs

Which is the best NEET coaching in Chandigarh?

The best one depends on your needs. Look for experienced teachers, small batches, regular tests and proper doubt support. Zetta Institute offers all of these, and you are welcome to attend a demo class to see the teaching style yourself.

When should I start NEET preparation?

Starting in Class XI is the most comfortable option, since you get two full years. Students in Class IX and X can begin with a foundation course. Even Class XII students and droppers can crack NEET with a focused plan.

Is NCERT enough for NEET?

NCERT is the base and must be learned very well. But you also need practice from good question banks and mock tests, because the paper tests how well you apply what you read.

How many hours should I study daily for NEET?

Most students do well with 6 to 8 hours of self study along with classes. Quality matters more than hours. Revision and question practice should be part of each day.

Do you offer a NEET dropper batch in Chandigarh?

Yes. The dropper program is built for students who want to try again. It starts with a check of weak areas, then moves to concept repair, test practice and mentoring.

Can I prepare for NEET and school boards together?

Yes. NEET and boards share the same NCERT base, so one plan can serve both. We time our classes and tests so school work does not suffer.

How do I join Zetta Institute?

Fill the enquiry form at the top of this page, call us on +91-9056203427 or visit our centre at SCO 348-349, 3rd Floor, Sector 34A, Chandigarh. Our team will guide you on batches and timings.

What is the minimum eligibility for NEET UG?

You need to be at least 17 years old and must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English in Class XII. The minimum marks in PCB are 50% for General and 40% for SC, ST and OBC. Please check the latest NTA bulletin for the current rules.

Can I take NEET coaching along with school?

Yes. Many of our students attend school and come to coaching in the evening or on fixed days. We plan the timetable so both school and NEET preparation get proper time.

How many marks are needed for a government MBBS seat?

There is no fixed number. The cut-off changes every year based on difficulty, competition, category and state. The best way to prepare is to aim for the highest score you can and track the cut-offs of previous years.

Is coaching necessary to crack NEET?

It is not compulsory, but it helps many students with a clear plan, regular tests and quick doubt solving. If you can stay disciplined alone, you can try. If you need guidance and a study routine, coaching gives you structure.

Can a dropper crack NEET in one year?

Yes, many students do improve in a drop year. The key is to find your weak chapters early, fix concepts and practise tests every week. A dropper needs patience and a daily routine.
